Tell the vet how you will use the horse
Explain your discipline, level, expected workload and plans. A finding can matter differently for a leisure horse and a top competition horse.
Agree which checks, X-rays, scans or blood tests you want before the examination starts.
Keep the original records
Match the passport or registration to the horse. Keep the original image files, dates and the name of the veterinary practice.
Your veterinarian should be able to speak with the examining vet and ask for more information.
Ask what the findings mean for you
Ask what was found, how it may affect your plans, what is still uncertain and whether the horse may need special care or future checks.
